Sculpture, balloon, pizza

The other day Sebby called me to "come see the sculpture I made!"  It was this. I liked it.

Sunday clothes, with Seb's balloon (he got it at a school party).  It's the best balloon we've ever had.  It's been up for nearly two weeks now.  Have you ever heard of such a thing?!

Boys waiting anxiously for the Cookie Pizza to cool.  Everyone decorated his or her own piece.  I remember LOVING a Family Home Evening where we did this when I was little.

Whoa! What an intense sculpture! That must have taken some time! And i love those kinds of balloons--they are really worth the extra money.
Do you use a sugar cookie dough for the cookie pizza? Is that recipe in your book? I should totally do it. Yummy

Okay, so we used your choc. chip bar cookie recipe (my personal favorite) yesterday (YES, I do use my cookbook still on a regular basis! It is duct taped, which should tell you something) and I'm wishing I had looked at this first--the kids would have loved to do this! Next family night . . . except that I end up eating more than half of the cookies myself!

I love the sculpture--way to go with the modern art, Seb!

Someone gave us 3 balloons one Christmas. They were mylar and shaped like 1) a nutcracker, 2) a snowman, and 3) a Christmas tree. They lived FOR-EV-ER. We had them at least 2 months, probably more. They were so frightening--they'd float around the house with the air currents and would just end up standing out in the hall looking at you. The Nutcracker was especially disturbing--exactly my height, and I'd run into him in the middle of the night. You may ask yourself, "Why didn't you get rid of them?" I guess I felt like they must have been expensive . . . and the kids were quite attached to them and wouldn't hear of throwing them away.

Really, please post instructions for the cookie pizza. It may go down in my kids' memories as my best parenting moment ever. I'll be sure to give you credit.

A couple of years ago I got Sophie a mylar princess castle balloon. It was so big that I should have given it a seat belt in the car. It lasted MONTHS, seasons even. I finally killed it with a pair of scissors; it just didn't go with the rest of my decor.
